LG Gram Pro (17", 2026) randomly crashes with Stop code: VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL (0x10E)

Problem:  As described.  Starts suddenly, disappears just as suddenly.  Crashes can occur anytime after boot (i.e. anywhere between 5 minutes and hours later), or sometimes never.

---

Solution:  Try unplugging devices from the USB-C ports before booting.

If that works, you can try disabling "Fast startup" in the Windows Control Panel and the BIOS, then try again by rebooting with USB devices plugged.

If that doesn't work, the Gram is just not for you.  Return it.

---

I spent days on this one, and I am thoroughly unimpressed with LG for making me do that.

Windows updates, driver updates, advanced graphics settings, startup/power settings, BIOS settings, memtest_vulkan, endless reboots.  Hours staring at it, wondering if or when it might crash again.  I had to set up a camera to watch it!

Was totally ready to return the thing, then I unplugged the USB-C-to-Ethernet adapter and shazam - no more crashing.

Immediately thought "bad adapter".  But it worked on another machine, and it worked fine when I plugged in back into the Gram.   Chalked it up to "shit happens".

---

Then the Gram crashed again, this time with a USB-C monitor plugged in.  (Not even a 4k , mind you, just an old 1080p panel.)

So it seems there is a USB-plugging-conflict problem that only occurs at boot, and with any USB peripheral.

I had replugged the Ethernet adapter after boot, so it was fine.  If I hadn't accidentally run down the battery with the external monitor plugged in, I never would have gotten this far.  Pure luck.

AI suggested wiping drivers with DDR and all other kinds of intricate crap that shouldn't be necessary on >any< brand-new machine, much less one made in ^%$#@!! century.

Disabling "Fast startup" was my last try.  It didn't work.

So now I have to decide between keeping a flawed $5000 machine, or returning it and taking a chance on another marque (which has a smaller screen and significantly more expensive).

---

I also have to say that LG Support really shit the bed on this one.  I don't like saying it, but it's true.

I never call tech support, but I finally called them in a last-ditch effort for help.  It was a brand-spanking-new machine, after all.  I'm a customer, I deserve tech support.

I didn't get any.  Their only solution was to do a warranty repair that would require a minimum of two weeks.

This is after I told them the exact error in the title.

They didn't even attempt to do any basic troubleshooting.  If they had, I might have noticed the Ethernet adapter sooner.

Yes, it is my own fault for not unplugging all the peripherals sooner.  But I defy anyone to decipher VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL (0x10E) to mean "unplug USB peripherals before booting".
